I think I missed the original question, but I noticed recently a posting on citing (or not) the electronic source when using an entire magazine article obtained from a CD, or on-line. It is my impression that one should ALWAYS cite the electronic source when such a source is used. That is, in truth, where the writer obtained the information. The same is true when using SIRS Researcher or SIRS in print, as their suggested bibliographic form indicates. The teacher, reading and evaluating the student's paper, might otherwise well question where the student obtained such a (relatively) obscure newspaper article, for instance. And the evaluator of the paper, or other reader, needs also to know how to access that source information him- or herself. That, after all, is the purpose of the bibliography.
