That subject is a little awkward! Anyhow, here is the responses that I received. I didn't include who sent them to me after all of the discussion about that. This book is not appropriate for sixth grade, but maybe she could use a section of it (say the first chapter). _Aura_ by Carlos Fuentes (in translation.) A good source is using _Picture Storybooks to Teach literary Devices_ from Oryx Press - 2 volumes. Also, _Which Way_ books and _Choose Your Own Adventure_ books were suggested by several. Thanks for the responses. Sorry this hit is so late after the request... --------------------- Ric Blank, MILS Library Media Specialist Sandy Hill Elementary 1990 Baldwin Ave. Jenison, Michigan 49428 Phone: (616) 457-1404 Fax: (616) 457-8494 e-mail: rblank@remc7.k12.mi.us "Travel by book!" - Sandra Boynton The opinions expressed here are not necessarily those of the school. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= To quit LM_NET (or set NOMAIL or DIGEST), Send an email message to listserv@listserv.syr.edu In the message write EITHER 1) SIGNOFF LM_NET 2) SET LM_NET NOMAIL or 3) SET LM_NET DIGEST For more help see LM_NET On The Web: http://ericir.syr.edu/lm_net/ =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
