Last June the librarians in my district sent off our shelf lists to Follett to make barcodes for our retrospective conversion. The barcodes are now arriving at our schools (9) and the district does not have our system up and running. Among other things I lack an electric line for the computers. They have been sitting in boxes in my library since they were delivered last August! Follett has told me not to put any barcodes on my items until the system is up and running. Do you agree? The high school librarian went ahead and put hers on and does not want to admit she could be wrong. (Hers came last summer.) I have so little time and I don't want to waste it doing a task twice if the barcodes are wrong. Advice, please. Thanks!
