To avoid disappointing librarians all over the country...

Those of you who haven't had the pleasure of reading *The Alexandria
Quartet*, will find it well worth your time; even if you only try the first
of the series: *Justine*. I would have to add, however, that in my opinion,
"classic" is accurate; "erotic classic" is not, so don't rush over to the
bookstore.

BTW: As Alice pointed out, it is entirely inappropriate for middle school;
not because of the mild sexuality, but simply the fact that there is not one
in a thousand middle school students who could relate to it.
