TECH:Microsoft network and printer sharing

We have been trying unsuccessfully to set up some computers to share a printer.
 We have windows for workgroups, zenith pentium cpus, SMC etherez 8416 cards
and a HP laser III.

We can install the microsoft network, and get all the way to the part where you
name a printer, but then get error messages.  We believe the problem to be in
the card and/or divers.  We get the same problem on several computers with the
same setup and card.  I downloaded some drivers from the SMC web page but don't
know which to use.

Has anyone done something similar who might have an answer.
