Hi all, Our school district is currently developing goals required by the state department of education. Some in the high school and middle school want to target reading instruction. There are some in the district who say it is pointless to teach reading beyond the elementary level and say they have research to support this. Several of us disagree, so we are looking for research to support the teaching of reading in the regular curriculum as well as research to support teaching remedial reading at the secondary level. Can anyone point me to some resources supporting reading instruction in the secondary schools? Thanks for your help. _*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_ Kevin Dellit, LMS Hayden School District Hayden, Colorado kdellit@colosys.net =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= To quit LM_NET (or set NOMAIL or DIGEST), Send an email message to listserv@listserv.syr.edu In the message write EITHER 1) SIGNOFF LM_NET 2) SET LM_NET NOMAIL or 3) SET LM_NET DIGEST For more help see LM_NET On The Web: http://ericir.syr.edu/lm_net/ =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
