Dear Friends at LM_NET,
At the New York Library Assoc. meeting this past week, Barbara Stahl,
Library and Information Director for Oneida Schools, approached me wanting
to know if anyone might be interested int his position in her district.
She is enthusiastic and seems to be extrememly supportive of school
libraries.  Oneida is an attractive community.  Should you be interested

Job Posting

Elementary library position open in the Oneida City School
District.  It is a progressive district in central New York
State with a strong district technology plan being implemented.
All of the buildings have networked computer clusters in each
elementary classroom, and a combination of clusters and labs in
the two secondary buildings.

Two administrators, Dr. Frederick Volp and Dr. Peter Tamburro won
the New York State SLMS Administrators of the Year awards in 1995.
This was unprecedented.

The position is available immediately.  It is serving two small
neighborhood schools with a combined total of students
being approximately 260.  There are aides in each building.  DYNIX
automation is installed for study for the Madison-Oneida BOCES in one
of the buildings.

The Oneida City Schools Library Media Program is very strong.  This
year's theme is "Oneida Reads."  There are several activities taking
place to support the theme including monthly articles in the local
newspaper, programs airing on the area public access channel, and
many cooperative activities with the Oneida Public Library.
