Hello! Do I get the prize for the most TARGET/HITS in progress? I'm still working on a few, but I have another request for information. This one I know has been covered before on this listserv, and I'll get what I can from the archives, but I need your help too. Our journalism classes publish two pages in the local newspaper each week. He has approached me about also putting these and other articles on the school's web page. When I discussed this with him last year, I stated my concerns about students' full names appearing on the web page, and suggested using first names and last initials. At the time, he didn't feel it was worth it if the students who had won honors and were writing the articles didn't have the recognition of their full names, so we haven't done anything about it. Now another local school is putting their school paper on the web. My teacher is contacting them for more details, and has brought up the subject again. I too want to do my homework and see how other schools are handling this. We have no official web page policy at this time; as webmaster, I make the decisions for now, but it will soon have to go to an official policy, and I want to have some background to share with my administrators. This is too long, so here are the real questions: Do you have students' names on the web pages? Have you had any trouble one way or another? Does your school have an official policy on this matter? Please reply directly to me, and I'll post a HIT (including names unless otherwise requested) soon. Thanks again for all of your help!
