TARGET: barcode timeline

Hi!  My library is finally in the process of becoming automated.  I should
have my records back between Thanksgiving and Christmas, and will be able
to order the system whenever I'm ready after that.

Of course I'm new to this, and I know a lot of you were once too, so I'm
hoping for some expert advice on barcoding.

A) How long does it take to barcode the collection? (I have about 9,000
items).

B) Did you do it yourself?  Have community help?  Any support from
teachers?  Let kids help with it?

Then there's the big decision about where to place the barcodes . . . but
I've read that discussion before. :-)
