We just got our first student id "cards" from our school pictures company today. They're on rolodex cards... not exactly what we'd planned... but, hey, the price was right! (0) I'm curious as to how other elementary schools use student barcodes for checkout. Until now we've had pages of the student barcodes by homeroom in a looseleaf binder. Problem is that each time a student comes to sign materials out, we have to ask their homeroom and their name. (can't seem to remember all 600 kids, I'm afraid). This can get really slow . I was hoping that kids would be able to walk up to the desk with their own "library card" for us to wand along with the books. I think this would save lots of time and trouble.... and I MAY still be able to get these rolodex cards laminated for use in this way... How do you all sign out kids, please? Is there an easy way, please? THANKS! Lynn Willard, Elem. Med. Spec., Paul Rd.
