Re: Should librarians shelve books?

I usually don't shelve books because of a) I don't have the time with the
class load that I have and b) I have a super-efficient clerical assistant
who gets the books back on the shelves in no-time! I really need to be
doing some shelving because it is the best way to learn where things are
physically in the new library. I know what we have, but I just can't walk
to the shelf and find it! At this point I am still visualizing where books
were on the shelves last year and working from that!
