Hi After reading some of the replies. I agree with those who say we are too expensive an investment in professionalism to be shelving books and stamping cards. One of my professors in library school said he hoped he wouldn't find us doing that if he were to visit. I realize when you have no help you have no choice. I have 8 hours a week of para help. I also have a library club that does about half the shelving. Once in awhile if I take the books from the shelves I put them back. I wish I could have adult volunteers, but this seems to be against school policy. What a shame!. So I agree we have more valuable uses of our time- especially since we are working with human beings .
