Hi--

There have been a couple of requests recently for ideas and books to use to
teach figurative language, and other literary devices. There is an
excellent book that gives lists of books to use to teach these devices.
When you need this book, there is no replacement! I have a copy of the
first volume, and I believe there is a new volume out, or a rev. ed. It is
_Using Picture Storybooks to Teach Literary Devices_ by Susan Hall,
published by Oryx Press, http://www.oryxpress.com/. I would suggest this
book for anyone planning to teach a wide variety of literary tools. Topic
mentioned are, among many others, satire, allusion, pun, imagery, paradox,
simile, analogy. One caveat: it *is* a bit pricey...
