Hi-- There have been a couple of requests recently for ideas and books to use to teach figurative language, and other literary devices. There is an excellent book that gives lists of books to use to teach these devices. When you need this book, there is no replacement! I have a copy of the first volume, and I believe there is a new volume out, or a rev. ed. It is _Using Picture Storybooks to Teach Literary Devices_ by Susan Hall, published by Oryx Press, http://www.oryxpress.com/. I would suggest this book for anyone planning to teach a wide variety of literary tools. Topic mentioned are, among many others, satire, allusion, pun, imagery, paradox, simile, analogy. One caveat: it *is* a bit pricey...
