I had a meeting with our school superintendent yesterday. We discussed the future of our K-12 media center program. He questioned the wisdom of having a K-12 media director withother individuals working in the five buildings in our system. I didn't ask if they would be certified media specialists but my question for all of you is what do you think? Are there any school districts that have a media director? Does he/she function as MS in any of the schools or is it an adminstrative position? I am not sure of the direction our administration wants to go with this but I did emphasize the inportance of finding out what other schools have and how their hierarchy works. Can anyone enlighten me? Thanks.
