Several years ago, (I believe the late 80s) the ALA was concerned about the abundance of "latch key kids" appearing in public libraries after school and unsupervised. At that time I think they released a statement about dealing with these children. My husband needs some info about their position for a report he has to write, and of course needs it before I go back to work on Monday. If anyone can help with a quote or statistics I would be most appreciative. And my husband would be very impressed!
