Greetings: For fourth grade dewey lesson: I took Donna Cook's folktale
of caveman dewey and made cartoon like transparancies to do the intro.
Then, someone recently queried about a dewey passport and I got to
thinking about that... so I invented one - three sheets of copy paper
printed front and back and stapled on the fold like a booklet. Cover
has Dewey Passport, below is a space for a photo of Mel (I couldn't find
one so I drew a man whose face is hidden behind a book he's reading!)
then a space for the traveler's naMe. Inside front cover is a travel
itinerary (100 - philo and psych, etc.) andspace for details about the
traveler. Then the pages are each a dewey number, space for the title and
author, then lines for a summary of the book. At the bottom of each
page are some basic questions. How was it illustrated. Did it have a
glossary. Etc. As each child reads their way through dewey the page
will get stamped and then they get a bookplate upon completion. Should
be fun! (Also gathering up ASD stuff for AMMO for my principal...)
