I am doing a major weeding job of videotapes this year - well this month - due to a lack of space. Most are GPTV, Videos Lessons and Channel One. I've determined which ones haven't been used in three years, some are just outdated and others - it's time to erase. I've got two questions: 1. Some of these tapes date back up to ten years. Has anyone had experience retaping on tapes that are several years old. Would I be smarter to simply pitch them - since I have oodles of new blank tapes in the supply closet. 2. It if is feasible to reuse these tapes - is there a quick way to erase besides purchasing an expensive piece of equipment. It would take us months to erase these things one at a time on the vcr. I expect to have almost 150 tapes to erase by the time I'm through weeding.
