Re: software for reading assessment We just got the STAR program. It is put out by the same company that does Accelerated Reader, but you can use one without the other. It gives reading level in 10 minutes. My teachers LOVE it. It prints out diagnostic info, parent letter, and more. We are using it 2-5th. We will add 1st the 2nd half of the year. If the student is very low it just registers "pre-primmer" and is not as helpful as higher level results. The company is called Advantage Learning Systems. Now, my question: Does anyone know of a math assessment software? My teachers are so excited about STAR, they want the same thing for math! Also, does anyone need 1st grade keypals? One of my 1st grade teachers is asking...
