Target (?): New Media Center

Hello LM_NETters,
   I am a public library children's librarian (though my MLS specialty was
School Library Media). My town just passed the building of a new library media
center which will connect the adjacent middle and high schools. The proposed
media center is 10,000 square feet, and includes classrooms for various media
activities.
   Now the design gets hammered out. I am hoping to be on the committee which
does the hammering out. I know there are lots of you out there who have been
through this. My query here is: What do you think are the MOST important
considerations in the design of a combined middle school/high school media
center?
