Follett software-circ plus

I have been using it for several years, and have to admit, have never
understood the meaning of "unmarked" items. Can anyone explain it...using
circulation plus..
the books seem to still be on the inventory list, but have become
"unmarked".....
my usual coding has either been "marked" when adding new books, or
"missing" the year we find them missing at inventory. I hope someone  can
help.
