All: Thank you for your replies to my question about the quote, "A chicken in every pot..." My sources listed a very similar quote for Henri of Navarre, King of France, but not any American politician. It turns out to be from Herbert Hoover's 1928 Presidential campaign, a slogan, not actually part of a speech: "A chicken in every pot, a car in every garage." Sources included _American Quotations_, several encyclopedas, and several websites. Thanks to all who replied!
