I am working on a district committee on automation. Two
thirds of the elementaries are automated with DOS or MAC
Follett. The middle schools (3) have Follett or Winnebago
and the 3 high schools have Inlex. We have quite a bit of
rancor over what should be done next. Two main questions--we
do eventually want a union catalog, do we all need to have
the same software? or can we just wait for the Z protocol to
take care of that for us? Second, all of the elementaries
used the same barcode numbers so the same barcode number in
one school might be Charlotte's Web and in another school
that number is Land and people of Finland. Will we have to
rebarcode if we want a union catalog and loans between
schools? Thank you for your help.
