I make the decisions for new materials.  I always ask my colleagues for
general or specific wishes and needs.  Not too many give me feedback.  I'd
like to think that they trust my expertise, which is surely at least
partially true.  I also believe they don't want to take their own time to
make suggestions.  I feel I have done a great job developing our
collection.  If I had to have a committee give me approval, I'd be pretty
unhappy.  I don't think there are more than a couple of teachers in my
building who would care enough to serve, and those are the ones who most
trust my judgement anyway.
