Dear LM_NET, The following announcement was forwarded to me by Jan Wee. Jan usually is able to spot a "winner" so I am posting it to the group! Peter Milbury, Co-owner of LM_NET pmilbury@ericir.syr.edu ---------- Forwarded message ---------- Date: Tue, 07 Apr 1998 07:35:36 -0500 From: Jan Wee <weejan@mail.holmen.k12.wi.us> NEWS from PROJECT NEURON... a NASA Quest project! NEURON AT THE LAUNCH! Linda comes to you live from the launch of STS-90 http://quest.arc.nasa.gov/neuron/events/launch NASA-TV and reporters from all types of media will be receiving the VIP treatment at Kennedy Space Center and reporting to you the glamorous side of a special NASA's STS-90 shuttle launch on April 16. They'll wow you with magnificent pictures as rockets fire up and Columbia ascends! It will be thrilling! The NeurOn project since its opening in September of 1997, has focused on the people behind the scenes of this Neurolab flight. Participants have gotten to know some of them through their bios, journals and online chats at http://quest.arc.nasa.gov/neuron/team Do you ever wonder what's going on with these people during all this excitement? That is the story NeurOn at the Launch will tell you. April 7, Linda Conrad, NeurOn project manager will join the team in their work (may even get to help run errands and such) to convey to classrooms some of the excitement of the "worker bees." No, she won't miss the launch! But will watch it from the place that the NeurOn team working behind the scenes watches it rather than where the VIPs watch. The reports will try to express to you what it's like for first timers, like Chris Barreras or veterans, like BJ Navarro. There will be journals almost daily placed online at: http://quest.arc.nasa.gov/neuron/events/launch Then, be there live: April 13, 14, 15 there will be live Webcasts over Learning Technologies Channel and possibly one right after the launch to give you a taste of the excitement. There will be a chat room set up for you to ask questions before hand; questions Linda will try to get the answers for before she reports to you live. Bookmark the page at: http://quest.arc.nasa.gov/neuron/events/launch We'll update that page as more information is available. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-= To quit LM_NET (or set NOMAIL or DIGEST), Send an email message to listserv@listserv.syr.edu In the message write EITHER: 1) SIGNOFF LM_NET 2) SET LM_NET NOMAIL or 3) SET LM_NET DIGEST * NOTE: Please allow time for confirmation from Listserv.
