Stumper->definition of racinate

Dear netters,

        An invaluable parent volunteer just endured the GRE's again this
past weekend (PhD program -biology). In the verbal portion  she had to
select the word most nearly opposite "racinate".  She could not find it at
home, and my print sources, including Websters 3rd unabridged offwreed no
help (unless, as one disgruntled test-taker suggested, the word was
misspelled (not mispelled)  on the test.  Please help.  You know how bugged
you can get with a stumper.
