Dear lm net friends, HELP! Here's the deal: I am in a 9-12 library that serves 1,100 students and approximately 80 faculty members with a collection of approximately 17,000 items excluding magazine holdings. We have currently 2 full-time certified librarians and one part-time clerk. The other librarian will be retiring this year after 25 years (she is truly a library goddess and we wil miss her terribly!), and one of our assistant superintendents has decided that we don't need to hire a certified person in her place, rather a full-time clerk. He is rarely in our building and so doesn't really realize what we do, how often we have classes in here for research, etc. We do have around 20 faculty members we've contacted so far who are writing letters and making phone calls to our board members and administration in support of us, and from what we hear, we are being heard, and some of the board are outraged that this supe would even suggest this. **Okay, enough rambling.** I'd like to know what schools our size have as far as staffing (certified and clerical, full and part-time). Thanks soooo much in advance!
