HIT: (sort of) REF: Stock Prices Question from March 25

About a month ago I asked if anyone knew of web sites with historical price
information.  Several people were interested in what I found.  Well, not
much, unfortunately!  Some web sites will give you graphs showing the
history of a stock, but none will give the exact closing price on a given
day.  Others *may* give this information, but you need to be a paying
subscriber.  A few companies will actually list their own historical prices
on their web pages, in their Investor Relations section.

I think because there are so many publicly traded companies out there and
so much information, the only way to get at historical prices is to talk to
a broker, call the company's Investor Relations program, or find a library
that subscribes to some research services (i.e. Morningstar).

I did review all of the sites sent to me and none contained historical
numbers, but, if you are interested in current reports and market
forecasting, here they are:

http://www.hoovers.com (a subscription service, mostly)
http://companiesonline.com
http://quote.yahoo.com
http://www.nasdaq.com (only for small cap NASDAQ companies)
