We just had an unbelievable experience at our school. We had a talk
by three female holocaust survivors (thank god for student teachers.)
This was the first time the spoke to a group so they were not well
organized but the emotion poured through. One lady broke down as she
pulled up her sleeve to display her tatoo as she walked around the
room. She had to finish her talk later. Hopefully our 8th graders
will never forget this. I have seen many such talks on video and on
TV - along with the many documentaries and movies, but to have the
real person live, in front of you is a very moving experience.
Before you ask how to get them - I can't help you. The student
teacher was a member of a Jewish Organization who did this as a first
time experiment - they are not on tour.
