Well, well, everyone ...

the FINAL chapter in the mystery of the silent midi files ...


(With the subject heading such as it is, you'll just have to image me jumping up 
from my seat and running around the house naked shouting the famous exclamation ... 
and some folks think it never happened!  harumph!)


It appears that the problem I have had is with the drivers in the IBM Mwave device 
...

it will NOT play any sounds whatsoever when the computer is online with a 
connection faster than 14.4 bps. . .  I proceeded to the site below ... downloaded 
the files, created a few installation disks from those files, and reinstalled the 
mwave files on the computer...


About an hour or two for the complete operation ...

AND ... IT WOIKS!  ( a solution we librarians might want to keep in that little, 
tiny, mental storage room near the entrance to the subconscious ... )



So, expect a few voice files and midi files to appear on the web site below ... not 
too many, don't want people leaving before they arrive - I'm sure many of you know 
that feeling!


Another one of life's little mysteries solved... just a million or so to go  8-)
