Hi, Amy & Group, >What do you have the parents do in your media center? I had parent volunteers standing in for me at my two elementary schools when I wasn't there (both small schools, each employing me only two days a week). I had them do basic check-in, check-out, and reshelving. They were encouraged to help out the younger kids in finding things, but they were mainly an adult presence there to maintain a professional atmosphere in the library (and keep it open!). I had a document I created to "train" them in their duties, which they could refer to during their work if they needed to. If you like, I will send you a copy of it. -Dale -- ======================================================== Dale Copps / Cybrarian & Webmaster / dcopps@together.net P.O.
