Hi, I would like to track down the origin and exact wording of the following quote: A lie travels halfway around the world before truth puts its shoes on. I have heard it attributed to Mark Twain, Winston Churchill, and a British prime minister (whose name I do not know) from the 1970's. Several quote sources including Bartlett's have been checked. Thanks.
