Greetings!!

I have to laugh at the latest media scare about the Internet. It
reminds me of "all the evils" of playing Dungeons & Dragons. There
are always going to be people who blame something external for
their own problems, and the media to make them celebrated victims
to validate their lack of responsibility (Wade Boggs' "addiction"
also comes to mind...the poor dear <--sarcasm)

I have found the online community to be everything that the
"real world" is, simply because all of us ARE "real." There
are wonderful, helpful, generous folks, and there are hurt, angry,
or depressed folks looking for an escape. The NY Times' editorial
staff should be ashamed of themselves for perpetuating this
"everything must be a crisis" mentality, whether it's the
President's pecadilloes, a tropical storm, or some folks who
need psychological help who also happen to use Internet.

Stepping off my soapbox now...this whole thing just hit a nerve...
