Hello Friends! Well, the inevitable has happened--I've been in this rural, conservative elementary library for 5 years now, and finally have a book challenge. I have a reconsideration form, but my principal does not want to cause any problems, so he just wants to pull the book from the shelf. The title is _More Scary Stories_ by Tresselt (? I think). The parent is objecting to how gory some of the stories are. Personally, I don't care for them either, but it is a popular title, and is checked out a lot. Have any of you had trouble with this title? Should I consent to letting the book be pulled without going through the reconsideration process? I've never had to handle this issue before, and need advice from the experts! Thanks for any help! *************************************************************** Bonnie LaClave Phone 765-436-2333 Library Media Specialist Fax 765-436-2630 Thorntown Elem. blaclav@in-motion.net 200 Mill Street "Reading Is To The Mind Thorntown, IN 46071 What Exercise Is To The Body" *************************************************************** =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-= To quit LM_NET (or set-reset NOMAIL or DIGEST), Send email to listserv@listserv.syr.edu In the message write EITHER: 1) SIGNOFF LM_NET 2) SET LM_NET NOMAIL or 3) SET LM_NET DIGEST 3) SET LM_NET MAIL * Please allow for confirmation from Listserv For LM_NET Help & Archives see: http://ericir.syr.edu/lm_net/ =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=--=-=-=
