GEN: ?? Consideration files

I hope that someone can give me some recommendations on how to organize
a sort of "consideration file" of items to purchase for the library.
Right now I have titles, authors, etc. listed on old card catalog cards,
index cards, pieces of paper, flyers from publishers, spread sheets on
the computer, ... I would like a way to organize all of this information
so that when I go to a bookstore I don't have to take a file cabinet
along with me. (:>)  Any suggestions out there in cyber space?  Anita
