Mac software for Umax scanner

I have a Umax Astra 600 scanner that is currently connected to my Power
Macintosh 6115CD.  Since I got a new scanner for my Gateway, I would like to
give the Astra to my son who has a Quadra with a 68040 processor.

What I need to know is will the software that comes with the scanner will
work on a Mac that is not a power PC.  The software is multi-platform and
can be used with Macs, Windows 3.1 and Windows 95 but the documentation says
nothing about the types of Macs that can be used.  The computer has a 1 GB
hard drive and 36 megabytes of RAM, so space isn't a problem.

I would appreciate any comments on this.  The version of the software is
1.04.
