Happy Holidays, I am in a small school district which is just now looking into assigning ID cards and numbers to students. Presently, our students have ID numbers which are used throughout their school career, but it is mainly for the office. I believe that the elementary library has started using that same number for their patron number, but am not sure because they just recently became automated. At the Senior High, I assign each student a barcode number, but it is currently different from the one used by the office. The sup't. is looking at the possibility of using this card for everything, even in the cafeteria instead of cash. Does anyone out there use such a system? I think he called it the SNAP program. Anyway, would you mind e-mailing me personally and telling me about your experiences with your districtwide system and in what areas you use the ID? Our district has about 1,300 students. Thank-you for your time. -- Lois Tabis, Librarian Sharpsville HS, Sharpsville, PA Tabis@infonline.net =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-= All postings to LM_NET are protected under copyright law.
