Thanks for all the responses to my question about weeding. Librarians =
are the best when it comes to helping each other and others in need of =
information. I'm not sure this is the proper way to do a HIT but I wante=
d to let you know some of the responses.

Most librarians keep some type of record of books that have been weeded. =
This can been done from a list generated from your automation system whe=
n you delete the book or by hand.
This list is valuable when you must replace this book and need documentat=
ion that it had to be removed for reasons such as damage or outdated info=
rmation or lack of circulation for many years.

Some librarians keep the shelf list card and the borrowers card but one =
librarian informed me that keeping the borrowers card could get us into =
trouble because we are not allowed to keep a list of reading material of =
patrons. Therefore, she only keeps the shelf list card for her records.

Most librarians responded that no one had ever asked for this list and =
they only kept it for a period of no more than 5 years.

Thanks again,
