TECH: Need software for processing & MARC

We are increasinly unhappy with our Software that make cards, labels, and
disks of books that we process.  Our biggest problem is that the program
will not allow multiple copies of titles to be processed at each sitting,
so the library clerk has to enter each title 20 times to append the correct
barcode and location codes.  This means she spends as much as twenty days
before all the titles can go out of our office (central processing).

The vendor says there is no other way to do this with their software.  It
is license renewal time and we want to know if there is a better package
out there.

Our schools all use Follett Unison, version 1.5, in the Dos format.  We
will NOT be changing this.

We also need a software package that will track our union, but we do not
want to install a union version that is available to all.  Unison will not
let me load the complete database for all the schools on to one program at
central processing.  Can we purchase one copy of, say, Athena and load all
of our titles onto that computer?
