Someone from a school system near mine called me this week to get some advice. They are building some new school libraries (as a part of expansion of several elementary schools). They want to know what to look for in selecting an elementary school librarian (they have librarians at the middle school and high school). The librarian would be running two elementary school libraries. They seem to think they might not be able to get a certified librarian (I think they can if they try hard enough) so they want to know what to look for in someone without a library certification (!) I certainly have my own opinions, which I will give them, but I thought I'd check with my best buddies on LM_NET too. How would you advise these folks? -- Johanna Halbeisen Woodland Elementary School(K-4) Southwick, Mass jhalbei@k12.oit.umass.edu =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= To quit LM_NET (or set NOMAIL or DIGEST), Send an email message to listserv@listserv.syr.edu In the message write EITHER 1) SIGNOFF LM_NET 2) SET LM_NET NOMAIL or 3) SET LM_NET DIGEST NOTE: Please allow time for confirmation from Listserv.
