If any of you saw either my video titled "Objective" Achievement; Solution: School Libraries" which summarizes the Colorado Study (the quality of a school library is a clear predictor of academic achievement in a school), or if you've seen the article (SLJ, May 1993) by the same title, tell me what you think of this: After reading the cover story in a recent SLJ about our invisible profession, I wondered if it would be worth trying to get that video reprinted and marketing it in the general education periodicals (and the administrative ones). My reluctance has to do with 1) time - it reports on a study that was done in 1991 2) form - will people who don't already know about the value of school libraries order a video to find out about it? Maybe it would be better to encourage David Loertscher to reprint his article in general ed publications. Any thoughts?
