Digital Camera/Mac

Hi,
  I was told today that I had been awarded a local grant, that I wrote a few
months ago. The grant is for a digital camera, and I have up to $1500 to spend.
My question is what do you recommend? I would like one with a zoom lens,
and would prefer transfer via floppy disk. I have heard that the Sony Digital
Mavica is good. I would appreciate any suggestions.
