It was on either 60 Minutes or Dateline (one of the Sunday night hour-long magazine shows). I think the banning began in one town (Tulsa?). The last portion of the segment said that the judge's ruling is being examined by a higher court and may be overuled as unconstitutional. The thing that shocked me was that the police got the rental list from the television store (Blockbuster? -- don't remember which one) and went to the HOMES of individuals who had rented the movie and took it from them. The owner/manager of the store said he did not want to give the police the rental list, but the person asking for it said he (store person) had two choices: give them the list or be taken from the store under arrest. Scary! Although the movie would not have been one that particularly interests me (it was made in the 70s), I'm sure demand for it will *boom* now! It *did* seem to have some inappropriate scenes (according to MY judgement). The scenes were not fully shown because the tv journalist said television rules would not allow them to be shown. One could assume then that the scenes were pretty graphic if they were more than what is currently scene on television. The confiscating of the list of rentals still sends shivers down my back, though!
