The best solution I think for you is to set up an intranet which means you
gonna have a Server. Windows NT might fit in since you're using Windows 95
already for your workstations. Have a Proxy Server so that all 25 PCs can
have access to the internet as well as to your intranet. But beware of some
consequences, if your link to the internet is slow (let's say... a dial up
connection on a 28.8 modem), you will be having more problems that
eliminating just a few. You will be running out of bandwidth. You will be
creating a mass of impatient users. But if you have a high speed access
(dedicated or leased lines ... like 128K line) to the internet, then users
would be more appreciative. You can have either a network hub or a router
on the server and both could serve the purpose.

Better .. consult to some reliable intranet/internet servicing company near
your place to help you more in coming up with a more appropriate decision
and eventually a solution.

Hope this helps!

Best regards.

Subject: Intranet vs. Internet

Good Morning!
I know there has been discussion on this topic previously and I initiated
some of it, but now I'm getting down to the actually making a decision.
My lab of 25 PCs with Windows 95 has 2 workstations that are connected to
the Internet. I am trying to determine the best solution for connection
so my staff can have access. I originally thought that downloading sites
onto my server and making it into a webserver was the answer, and now am
looking into using a router so all 25 workstations have access. I have
heard about some of the problems with both and am looking for input from
those of you who have either of these in your school. Any and all
guidance would be very helpful. Thank you.
