To thought I would add to the discussion regarding M.S. versus M.L.S. At Drexel where Ijust gradauted, there is no such thing as an MLS. The MLS program is now an M.S. in Library and Information Science. I believe that at many of the schools across the country that I looked at have done the same thing. I always thought I would have M.L.S after my name, just like my H.S. Librarian did, but I don't because, technically, even though I took all the same things, I have an M.S. I think it is funny when I see job postings that require an ALA MLS, because I don't technically have one!
