ACCELERATED READER

Dear Colleagues,
I would appreciate any opinions about the ACCELERATED READER/readup program.
I have had some first-hand experience with the program and do not like it at
all (numerous reasons).  I was just informed that the reading teacher in our
school is trying to implement the program.

I am currently split between two schools, have scheduled classes (28 out of a
possible 30 periods per week - 45 minute classes).  I am suggesting that a FTE
LMS is much more critical to developing metacognitive skills than investing in
a program like AR.

Any responses ASAP will be greatly appreciated.
