Some of you had requested a HIT on the information I received regarding recommended listservs for high school science teachers. Many thanks to Pat Moore and Barbara Herbert who provided the following information: JEH: discussion of technology in K-12 education, particularly in science listserv%umdd.bitnet@listserv.net T321-L: discussion of teaching science in elementary schools listserv@umslvma.umsl.edu BIOPI-L: discussion of biology and education listserv@ksuvm.ksu.edu CHEMED-L: discussion of wide-ranging topics for chemistry educators at high school and college level listserv@uwf.bitnet PHYS-L: Physics teachers listserv@uwf.cc.uwf.edu PHYS-STU: Physics students listserv@uwf.cc.uwf.edu ----- PHYSHARE: discussion of sharing resources for high school physics listserv@psuvm.psu.edu BIGQUAKE: list automatically sends information on earthquakes greater than 5.0. It gives the longitude and latitude of each earthquake. It gives a good sense of where the quake areas are. To subscribe, e-mail to Bigquake-request@neis.cr.usgs.gov. ------- And this from Barbara Herbert (bherb@juno.com) This isn't really a listserv, but I am the coordinator of the NASA Educator Resource Center that serves NJ/eastern PA. I would appreciate it if you could pass this information along to the teachers who attend your inservice. Rather than cluttering this email, they can find information about our ERC at the college's website http://www.georgian.edu From the homepage, they should be able to click on NASA ERC (which has a rotating "cool" thingie next to it); if that's not there, they can click on Instructional (or Information - I forget which it is) Resources, then click on Library, then on NASA ERC. **************************************************************************** Shayne Russell Educational Media Specialist & KidsConnect Volunteer Mt.
