TARGET: African American biographies on the web

Hi gang,

        I'm working with a team of teachers on an 8th grade research project on
(how'd you guess?) African Americans.  I have a short list of websites that
will take them to some useful sources for information, images, video clips,
etc.   I thought maybe some of you avid "web searchers" would have
suggestions for sites that I could add to the "pile."
        As part of the project, the students will be publishing their own work on
our school Intranet.  We did this project for the first time last year;
those students' projects can be seen at:
