Today as I was catalouging some books that I received I noticed that the copyright date was 1999. At first I thought it was a typo and wnent on to the next one. Each book I got in that set was 1999. The books are published by Chelsea House and are about individual countries. I called World Almanac who gave me the number for Chelsea House. The explanation was that they did not expect the books out until July (which is when the copyright date changes - they told me it ran with their fiscal year and not the calender year). First, is that the way it is with all companies? Second, does this seem underhanded? I mean if Isreal gets blown of the map or Ireland has more political strife resulting from their conflicts these bookswould be outdated before they were conceivably published. The lady at Chelsea House said I was the second to call, but that they were not reprinting them just for the copyright date. Any thoughts? *************************** Megan Volmer Media Specialist Fort Mill Elementary School Fort Mill, SC volmerm@fort-mill.k12.sc.us *************************** =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= To quit LM_NET (or set NOMAIL or DIGEST), Send an email message to listserv@listserv.syr.edu In the message write EITHER 1) SIGNOFF LM_NET 2) SET LM_NET NOMAIL or 3) SET LM_NET DIGEST NOTE: Please allow time for confirmation from Listserv.
