One of the things that I found when traveling, when I said I was from Washington, people would say, "oh I hear it's scary to live there or expensive or have you ever gone through the White House?" So we learned rather quickly that you need to say you are from Washington State. To which they would say, "oh, it rains there a lot!" (Not on my side of the mountains.) So I guess my point is when requesting information about one of the Washington's would people please put State or D.C. so that there is no confusion and the correct people then would respond to the message.
