THANKS: Ice cream maker

         Thanks to everyone who sent suggestions, recipes, etc. for using
a manual ice cream freezer.  We made ice cream on Saturday, June 27th, and
boy was it great.  My niece and three nephews (ages 2 through 8) were a
great help.  It was quite a treat on one of the hottest days so far this
year after having spent the morning and early afternoon manning our family
garage sale.  We made vanilla this time, but I'm looking forward to making
some more exotic flavors next time--which I hope is soon.  Maybe the 4th
of July.  It sounds like a great way to end one of the classic days of
summer.
        To those of you who are on summer vacation, enjoy the rest of your
time off.  And to those of you, who like me, work at a year-round school,
keep plugging away.  Our 1997-98 school year ended June 26th and the new
year starts Monday, July 6th. Not much "summer vacation" left for me.
        Thanks again for your help.  You are a great group.
